Forget the Snack Basket: The One Free Touch Your Guests Will Actually Rave About

If you’ve read any of our content, you know our golden rule: Hosts are in the hospitality business.

Every online "expert" will tell you how to optimize your listing, hack your pricing, or stage your living room. Far fewer focus on the actual human experience.

Many hosts stop trying the second the booking comes in. That’s mistake number one. We are constantly rethinking the entire guest journey, starting even before the moment they step through the door.

Yeah, we do the usual stuff—snack baskets, drinks in the fridge, chocolates on the pillow. But do you want to know what actually moves the needle? Using their names.

When our guests walk in, the very first thing they see is their name on our marquee light box. Our last guest didn't text her friends about the free drinks or the snacks. She sent them a photo of her name on the sign, and then raved about it in her review. We put their names everywhere we can (and yes, if guests bring a dog, the pup gets a personalized goodie bag too).

Leveling Up for the World Cup

Right now, FIFA is taking over Miami. Some of our guests are heading to the stadium; others are glued to the living room TV.

To make things seamless, we didn't just add English and Spanish sports channels—we created quick, multilingual instruction cards to eliminate TV frustration.

Then we took it a step further. We realized a lot of guests are coming just for the World Cup vibe, even if they aren't attending a live match. But who actually keeps track of every kickoff time and channel?

We do. Now, we’re building individualized FIFA schedules for every single stay. It lists every match playing during their dates, groups, stadiums, and exact kickoff times, paired with the TV instructions.

It doesn't take a massive budget to show you care. It just takes intention.

Over to you: What little, high-impact touches do you use to show your guests real hospitality?
