Spirit Airlines stops flying.
Love it or hate it: Spirit Airlines shut down this morning.
No more flights.
What does this mean for your guests?
Since the airline just stopped operating this morning, here's what I suggest, since Spirit will not pay to rebook a flight or cover the cost of an emergency hotel.

- Current Guest: Contact your guests to ask whether they flew Spirit. If they did, they won't have a return flight to get home. Offer them the option to stay an extra day or two at a discounted rate to get some extra time to make new travel arrangements.
- Future Guests: Reach out and remind them that travel insurance can help mitigate unforeseen events, like this one. We offer Travel Insurance as an upsell through Faye.

Travel Insurance
#ProTIp: You can purchase travel insurance 24 hours before your departure. So, unless your guest is flying today, they can still purchase coverage to help with the costs of their upcoming trip.
Spirit will refund tickets booked directly through them, but if your guests purchased them through a travel agent (such as Expedia, Flights.com, etc.), they will need to contact those channels for a refund. Any flights booked with points or vouchers - well, Spirit is going to determine how to refund those sometime in the future.
#TravelHack: You can not book travel insurance once your trip has begun, but you can book it up to 24 hours before your departure. That means any of your guests who are not flying today can purchase travel insurance for a flight they were scheduled for tomorrow, even if that flight was canceled.
As for your current guests, I can only suggest purchasing travel insurance for the new flight they need to book to get home.
